Day 1: Drive off from Kampala to Mgahinga
You will meet with your tour leader in Uganda for briefing and after, get your property packed in the car. Set off from your hotel property in Kampala, driving via Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale route in a 4WD safari vehicle. Getting to Mgahinga by road takes about 8-10 hours starting from Entebbe or Kampala. En-route journey encompasses a stopover visit at the Equator and lunch break at Igongo Cultural Centre.
Depart from Igongo Cultural Centre to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Kisoro. Your road trip comes with spectacular views of the country’s rolling hills and surrounding plantations. On arrival, you will proceed to the lodge to have a leisurely dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking Adventure with the park guide
Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga like in Bwindi involves spending good time searching for the family of the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The day begins with briefing from the park official where you get insight into the different guidelines for gorilla trekking. All guests will be expected at Mgahinga NP Ntebeko area for briefing and for you to be assigned the park guide.
Leave Ntebeko for actual search for Nyakagezi gorilla group of Mgahinga, and expect to take 2-6 hours. The one hour is inclusive and this is when you will explore in depth about the daily behaviors of gorillas and taking photos. Different behaviors, feeding and mating habits plus others will be explored and you get back to the lodge.
Have a relaxed stay at the lodge till evening when you will pay a visit to one of the nearby communities. After, you will get back to spend the rest of the day at the lodge.

Day 3: Departure from Mgahinga to Kampala
Enjoy a hefty breakfast early morning at the lodge in Mgahinga NP and after, check out. From Kisoro, you will drive back to Kampala/Entebbe, a long road trip of 8-10 hours but includes en-route lunch.
